This is crumby!

I still haven’t finished spray painting the stuff I got from the thrift store. The sun came out for a while yesterday, so I should have done it then, but I chose to do laundry and sweep the mountain of crumbs off of my kitchen floor instead. I felt like such a good wife.
Why did I have so many crumbs everywhere? I’m not going to lie, I usually have a million crumbs on the floor… But it was especially bad because I made 180 cupcakes on Wednesday, and how did I keep my 3 year old and 1 year old occupied while I baked? I didn’t. They ran wild around the house all day and my little boy watched 2 movies (gasp!) Then after the kiddos ran wild all day, they got to have a cupcake themselves, which contributed to the crumbs. Here is what 180 cupcakes looks like. Yes, I burned the first batch. Don’t judge.

P.S. I am in LOVE with my buffet. And guess what? it only cost me a hundred buckaroos on KSL (it’s like a Utah Craigslist.)

I hand piped each and every cupcake. Hope those boy scouts appreciated it! ha!
It really wasn’t that hard. I just filled my piping bag, used tip 1M (wilton), and swirled the frosting onto the cupcakes. Looks really awesome, but it’s a trick cause it’s way easier than trying to frost them the old fashioned way.
On a much less happy note, today I had a root canal. Actually, it was part 2 of 3 in the root canal process. Yes, I want to crawl into bed and watch “You’ve got mail” with my new fluffy pillows, but that’s not really an option, so I’m eating a baked potato (yum) instead while my baby naps and my little boy watches Toy Story 3. Another movie? Oh my goodness, what kind of mother am I?
I don’t feel that bad, though, because they got to spend the morning at Grandma’s house, so I know they’ve had their mental stimulation for the day. I just want to say that my Mother in Law ROCKS!!! She is always willing to watch my kids whenever I need her to. You know she does a good job when you go to pick up your kids and my 3 year old begs me to leave again so he can stay at Grandma’s house longer. Yeah, I’m super lucky. And, she even sent me home with a warm loaf of wheat bread. Yum.
Have a good weekend, everyone. Rest assured I will be in my PJ’s all weekend long.

  • I just ate one. . .actually three of those delicious cupcakes that Holly so generously shared with me, can I just say it was amazing?! Seriously though. I couldn't stop at just one.

  • Hey Nate, I have a blog you might like. My friend Cali and all her sisters are pretty crafty, but all in different areas. They team up and write this blog called Bits of Everything http://blog.bitsofeverything.com/ It's really cute, and some of their stuff reminds me of your stuff. I wish I were as talented and crafty as all you guys!

Those cupcakes look fantastic by the way!
