Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

At our house, we love Peanut Butter.

Needless to say, these Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats are some of our favorite treats!

They are really easy to make, and super yummy.

Of course I’ll share the {sinful} recipe with you. I know, I know, they are 96% sugar. I told you they were good, not good for you.

You’ll need:

1 cup Corn Syrup or Karo Syrup

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Peanut Butter

6 cups Rice Krispies

1/2 bag Chocolate Chips

1/2 bag Butterscotch Chips or White Chocolate Chips

Start by bringing your Corn Syrup and your sugar to boil in a large pot. Stirring consistantly. The longer you boil, the harder your treats will be. I bring mine to a good boil and then hurry and take it off the heat.

Once off the heat, stir in 1 cup Peanut Butter. Yes, I’m a choosy Mom.

Then stir in 6 cups Rice Krispies.

Once it’s all mixed up good, smoosh your treats into a greased casserole dish. I think 9×13?

Use a wet spoon or dip your fingers in cold water to smoosh it in. It won’t stick to your fingers and you won’t get burned.

Now, you’ll melt your chocolate chips. I stick mine in my glass measuring cup and microwave it for about 30 seconds, then stir, then 30 seconds more, stir, 30 seconds more until they’re melted. Be careful not to burn the chocolate chips. Burned chocolate is the worst!

Then spread your chocolate over the top of your Rice Krispie Treats.

Melt your butterscotch chips or your white chocolate chips. My family LOVES it with butterscotch chips, but I don’t like butterscotch much, so I use white chocolate instead.

I actually found these “melties” in the bulk food section of my grocery store, and I love them! But you could use regular white chocolate chips.

Anyway, drizzle your butterscotch or white chocolate on top of your chocolate covered treats.

Drizzling makes it look so fancy.

Let it cool (or stick it in the fridge if you’re impatient like me!)

And WHALLAH!

Yes, The Mr. insisted upon doing the drizzling.

Make sure to grab one while you can, because these sugary beauties go fast!

I whipped these up to take to my neighbor after she had her baby. This is one of those fancy looking treats that doesn’t take long to make and is sure to please any crowd.

Come back in a few days and I’ll share how I etched my baking dish so I make sure to get it back.
